CALLED EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

Our Search Committee for the part-time Associational Missionary position has been meeting. The members of the committee are: Don Knotts, chairman, Shirley Finley, Doug Murray, Jeff Ramsey, and Marty Turner. I encourage you to pray as we seek the Lord’s direction for our association at this time.

I am calling a special meeting of the Executive Board for the purpose of dealing with matters and concerns from the Search Committee. The meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16^th, 7pm at Evangel Baptist, Bridgeport. In case of bad weather, the alternate date will be Tuesday, Feb. 21^st. Every pastor and Executive Board representative from our churches is encouraged to be at this important meeting.

During these changing times in our association, let me remind committee and ministry chairpersons that you need to take the leadership in planning for any events or training sessions on the calendar that fall under your area of ministry. Jerilyn is available to assist you and our State Convention Staff is available to lead training events. Also, if I or our Vice Moderator – David Mellquist - can be of any help to you, please contact us.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DAY

Feb. 18 – “Operation Education”

Each church is encouraged to help their children share God’s love with others by ministering through a hands-on project that will make a direct impact on their community.

CAMP MONONGAHELA
PLANNING MEETING

Volunteers are needed to staff Camp Monongahela 2012. The dates for camp are:

Youth Camp (for those who have completed grades 7-12) – June 9-13
Kids Camp (for those who have completed grades 3-6) – June 13-16

Volunteers serve in a variety of capacities –

Counselors for youth or kids
Leaders of Bible study, recreation, crafts or other activities
Cooks (either full-time or helping for a day)
Nurse

All volunteers who stay at the camp &/or work directly with campers must fill out an application, provide references & pass a background check. Anyone interested in volunteering for camp is invited to the Camp Planning Meetings on the last Thursday of each month (January through May).
